One question,Did you able to make the RIP updates worked,after apoplying route-map to the local policy on Task 2.2

Hi,
Yep, with Radius, Authentication and authorization is combined so once the user authenticates, the access-lists are downloaded as some sort of authorization (very lame authorization). More like access-restriction not authorization.

Tacacs+ on the other hand separates authentication and authorization (although a user must be authenticated before it is authorized). Also the “Shell command authorization is used” and the networks are treated like commands during command authorization.

Hello Tolulope,

So if one is using RADIUS, then only authentication is sufficient, but if one is using TACACS+, then authentication + authorization is required. Is that what you were saying?

Something else to note:
Radius combines Authentication and Authorization using downloadable access-lists for cut-through proxy.
Tacacs+ on the other hand separates Authentication and authorization. The authorization process is quite similar to command authorization (authorization is performed everytime you try to access the network) and uses shared profile components (pretty weird).
